The component workbook allows for these factors to be calculated.
Now if I have say (for example) 4 PCB′s that make up one system and I have these 4 PCB′s calculated on 4 separate component workbooks. When I am answering the questions to determine the Induced Factor and Part Manufacturing Factor, am I answering the questions with regards to the individual card or for the system as a whole. My initial reaction would be for the individual card, as that workbook only contains information on that card.
Any help would be appreciated.

Dear,
The Pi_PM part manufacturing factor is related to a basic item: the component (or the sub-assemblies for wich FIDES proposes models). So each PCB may have a specific Pi_PM factor. Generaly, if several PCB come from the same design process and the same manufacter they will have the same PI_PM. I can′t guess what is adequate for your example.
The induced factor is again specif for each item, but inside the Pi_induced factor:
- The Pi_application factor is product (in most case: equipement or board) or system related. At first sight, it should be the same for all board (and PCB) in an equipement. In your example, I would have take the same Pi_application for the 4 PCB.
- The Pi_ruggedizing factor is process related: it may be different from one board to another if they come out from several processes. I can′t guess for your example.
I hope this will help.
